THE FRANKLIN INSTITUTE-CEPHALON PARTNERSHIP

The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia is one of the oldest and most respected science museums in the country, and Cephalon is proud to be a long-term partner with this important educational institution.

Cephalon has made a $4 million contribution to The Franklin Institute to develop a new signature exhibit for the museum built around neuroscience and the brain. The Cephalon commitment is the largest single corporate donation in the Franklin Institute’s history, and one of the largest corporate gifts to a science museum.

The new exhibit, slated to open in late 2012, will explore how cutting-edge research is changing our view of how the brain functions. Cephalon is proud to support the development of this exhibit and to contribute to the community in ways that will ensure that future generations are inspired by science and scientific discoveries that will impact and shape their world.

“Clearly, Cephalon shares our passion for science education, which makes the company an ideal philanthropic partner,” said Dennis M. Wint, President and CEO of The Franklin Institute.

For the past three years, Cephalon has been a sponsor of the annual Franklin Institute Awards, which are among the most prestigious and longest-running science awards in the world. Cephalon also was a presenting sponsorship of the Institute’s Darwin exhibit in 2006, an exhibit that drew more school trips than any other exhibit in the museum’s history.

“Darwin was one of the most important exhibits the Institute has ever mounted,” Wint said. “We simply could not have done it without Cephalon’s terrific investment, which also allowed students from underprivileged areas to enter the exhibition at no charge.”
